They are like a "hydra" the mythical creature where you cut off one of the serpent's heads and two more grow in the same spot. These companies could care less about whether you actually owe a debt or not. All they care about is making you PAY! Common "debt buyers" who frequent Alabama's court system are Arrow Financial, CACH, CACV, Portfolio Recovery Associates, Calvary Portfolio, OSI Portfolio Services (and it's multiple franchises), Palisades, and there are MANY MANY MORE! If you receive a letter from a debt collector whom you do NOT owe (or even if you do), for a current or "out of statute" debt, send a certified letter demanding VALIDATION and contact my office for more assistance IMMEDIATELY when you receive a lawsuit.
